Disaboom Launches Redesigned DisaboomJobs Website
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Disaboom, Inc. (OTCBB:DSBO) (www.disaboom.com), the leading online resource for people with disabilities, today announced the launch of its redesigned DisaboomJobs.com website. Originally established in February 2008 as the first website dedicated to employment for the disability community, DisaboomJobs.com is now positioned to provide more opportunities for both job seekers with disabilities and employers actively trying to create a more inclusive workforce.
Employment for People with Disabilities
“Many are unfamiliar with the daunting unemployment statistics related to people with disabilities, and the employment related challenges people with disabilities face on a daily basis,” states Disaboom CEO John Walpuck. “People with disabilities represent the largest single diversity group in the United States – and their ability to contribute to an organization’s success is often grossly underestimated.”
DisaboomJobs.com will significantly increase the visibility and human resource capabilities of employers actively trying to create a more inclusive workforce by connecting them to a broad base of qualified job seekers with disabilities. In addition, DisaboomJobs.com supports both job seekers and employers through a broad array of disability-related employment resources.
The objective of DisaboomJobs.com is to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We will achieve this objective via: (1) DisaboomJobs.com’s features and functionality, as well as its unique cross-promotional relationship with the Disaboom network of related websites which receives over one million unique visitors per month; (2) our partnership with the JobCentral.com National Labor Exchange, a service provided by the DirectEmployers Association, (a consortium of Fortune 500 and other leading corporations nationwide, in alliance with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies/NASWA); and (3) significantly lowering the barriers for people with disabilities seeking jobs online by providing a much higher level of website accessibility compared to mainstream and diversity-oriented job boards.
Today, DisaboomJobs.com can provide our community of users and visitors access to over 600,000 job postings from approximately 500 employers, including 44 of the Fortune 100. “People with disabilities represent a largely untapped workforce. We look forward to facilitating many new opportunities for job seekers with disabilities and for employers to gain from a more inclusive workforce,” notes Walpuck.
Redesigned Site Achieves Multiple Objectives
User experience, expanded opportunities for employers and job seekers, and accessibility were key elements of the redesigned DisaboomJobs.com. The new site contains all of the features and functionality of a mainstream job board; provides employers a greater number of job-posting, featured employer and branding opportunities; provides tracking and reporting features that enhance a company’s ability to meet a variety of U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and other compliance requirements; allows job seekers to register and create their individual “personal profile” which contains a variety of robust features and applications; and enables website accessibility compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), and other accessibility requirements.
