Mendon Mountain Orchard
Back in the 1920′s when Dr. Thomas owned the orchard, he had two old houses put together to make one big orchard house.
Today, half the house serves as our bakery, motel office, and Millie’s house. The rest of the house, complete with a full bath, kitchen, private entry and lots of mouth watering bakery aromas, serves as a guest house.
Mendon Mountain Orchards is a family run motel and apple orchard. The orchard was planted back in the late 1920′s by Dr. John Thomas, then President of Rutgers University. The orchard was a vacation spot for him and he chose this site for its panoramic sunset views. We are told that President Coolidge used to stop here for refreshments on his way to his home in Plymouth!
For the past 17 years we have been caretakers of the beautiful “heirloom” orchard. In addition to being orchardists and inn keepers, we keep busy with our bakery, farm store, and greenhouses, all on a spectacular 28 acres!
