US. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao today announced that “America’s People, America’s Talent… America’s Strength!” will be the official 2008 theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month, which is observed in October nationwide. The 2008 theme captures the accomplishments highlighted in the 2007 progress report on President Bush’s New Freedom Initiative for people with disabilities. Read the News Release

The VABIR Business Advisory Council (BAC) is a group of representatives from local businesses and civic organizations, representatives of VABIR, and representatives of VocRehab who work together to identify and develop access to job training and jobs that are compatible with the skills and abilities of people with disabilities. The Business Advisory Council is dedicated to providing a skilled and willing workforce and to working with area employers to meet their employment needs through the resources within both VABIR and VocRehab of Vermont.
