Summary: Wednesday, February 17, is Disability Awareness Day.  Begins at 9:00am in Room 11 with a meeting with Deborah Lisi-Baker.   On Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning the House Appropriations committee will take testimony from advocates on the FY2011 Budget.  On Wednesday House Corrections and Institutions is looking at mental health protocol in corrections and taking testimony re:S.2,a bill signed into law last year that codified protocol relating to those with mental health or cognitive impairment entering the corrections department.  On Thursday, February 18 at 3pm there will be a joint hearing concerning the Vermont State Hospital Plan.  On Tuesday at 2:30 Judiciary will work on the service dog bill.(H.524)  On Thursday there will be a joint assembly to elect state college trustees.

SENATE COMMITTEES

Summary:  Jim Hester of the Health Reform Commission will give testimony to Appropriations on Wednesday concerning the FY2011 Budget and on Tuesday in Health and Welfare on health care reform.  On Thursday at 3pm there will be a presentation of Master Plan for Futures Project by the Department of Mental Health in front of a joint session of House and Senate in room 11.  Government Operations will be taking testimony on health care administration consolidation on Wednesday morning at 9am.  Medical marijuana dispensaries will be discussed later in the morning.
